Mahomies Mimosa Recipe

  • Author: Clara
  • Total Time: 5 min

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 oz tequila

  • 1 oz Grand Marnier (or Cointreau)

  • 3 oz Prosecco (or Cava)

  • 4 oz fresh orange juice

  • Splash of grenadine

  • Orange slice and maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1: Chill your ingredients and glass
Chill the Prosecco, orange juice, and glass ahead of time. You can also place the glass in the freezer for 10 minutes for an extra frosty serve.

Step 2: Add the spirits and juice
In a mixing glass or shaker (no ice needed), combine 1 oz tequila, 1 oz Grand Marnier, and 4 oz fresh orange juice. Stir gently to blend the flavors.

Step 3: Pour into glass
Fill your chilled champagne flute or mimosa glass about halfway with the orange mixture.

Step 4: Top with bubbles
Slowly pour in 3 oz chilled Prosecco or Cava. Do not stir—let the bubbles lift and mix naturally.

Step 5: Add grenadine and garnish
Finish with a splash of grenadine, which will sink slightly and give the drink a sunrise effect. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Notes

  • Use fresh-squeezed orange juice for the best flavor—avoid overly sweetened bottled juice

  • A dry Prosecco or brut-style sparkling wine balances the sweetness from grenadine and orange juice

  • Tequila blanco keeps it crisp and clean, but reposado can add extra depth

  • Grand Marnier adds a smooth orange liqueur flavor; Cointreau works just as well

  • Pour sparkling wine slowly to preserve bubbles and prevent overflow
